Learning Spanish Tips

And now for our favorite top 5 free online learning Spanish tips and resources:

  1. How to Roll Your Rs. The great thing about Spanish pronunciation is that it is so easy and consistent, unlike the English language. Vowels in Spanish are always pronounced the same way. There are no long and short vowels as in English or irregular pronunciation rules. This alone makes learning Spanish so much easier than other languages right from the start. But there is one pronunciation oddity in Spanish that is a stumbling block for many English speakers: the Spanish “R”. In Spanish, one must roll the R, whether it’s a short roll for a single R in the middle or at the end of words… or a long roll when the R is the first letter of a word or for double Rs. This can be a huge hinderance to speaking Spanish fast if you cannot roll your Rs. Read our free tip about How to Roll Your Rs, using a shortcut technique that will make you sound like you are rolling your Rs, even if you don’t know how, yet.
  2. Learn lots of Spanish words FAST. There is a great methodology to allow you to learn a lot of Spanish words very fast. You will be amazed at how this works. You will be able to take hundreds of words that you already know and follow some simple rules, making slight modifications to the words, and da-dah!, the words are now Spanish. Though this is a program for purchase, you can sign up for the free samples, and some of the rules will be mailed to you for free. This is the absolute best way to build a fast Spanish vocabulary with a minimum amount of effort.
  3. Quickly say complex Spanish sentences without conjugating. Learning Spanish tips imageThis is absolutely our favorite shortcut to learning Spanish. Using a smart but easy SYNERGY VERB + BRICK VERB + MORTAR WORD formula, you will find yourself speaking full Spanish sentences right off the bat. It’s amazing how with most Spanish programs, you spend so much time learning Spanish words but struggle making complete sentences … I mean, complete COMPLEX sentences. This programs starts you off putting together sentences right away. And they do this with the claim that you only need to learn 138 words to say almost anything in Spanish. Sign up for the first 4 chapters free (as well as free audio lessons). There is a wealth of information — in these first 4 free chapters — that will get you using their methodology and speaking Spanish quickly.
  4. Learn the 100 most important Spanish words. This is the same Synergy Spanish course listed above but one of the free resources they offer is the 100 most important Spanish words. Sign up for the free chapters, be patient, and they will send other links to free samples. One will be this list. If you want to go through vocabulary drills, it is better to be selective about which words you will learn rather than waste time learning words you may rarely use. 50% of all the Spanish you will speak will use these 100 words. Focus on this list and you will have a small but effective vocabulary.
  5. Rocket Spanish complete Spanish course. If you are looking for shortcuts to learning Spanish and would like to master the language, too, this program is for you. Learn Spanish fast imageRocket Spanish is a well-rounded in-depth Spanish program that is still easy to follow and entertaining. It is intended to take you from a beginner to advanced Spanish speaker without being monotonous and repetitous like so many Spanish textbooks that are overblown with hard-to-grasp grammar and lists of meaningless words. The first 6 lessons in this 6-day mini audio course are free and you will find yourself quickly speaking basic Spanish. The female speaker in this audio course has the most pleasant voice we have ever heard in a Spanish audio program.

Take these learning Spanish tips for a spin … they won’t cost you a peso.

I soon realized that no journey carries one far unless, as it extends into the world around us, it goes an equal distance into the world within.

I was at the akumal on Sept.22,07…i had the “best” time! I’m looking for the name of the song the band would sing at the end of the night? I thought it was Good Bye, But i can’t seem to find it. I just loved that song!

Hola Denise, were you at La Buena Vida or at the Lol-ha where the band was playing?

Have anything to add?
